The author Carol Scheunemann spoke to students, university staff and employers about their views on the reform.
The student's view
"Generally, I think that the bachelor’s and master’s concept is very good. Of course there are still problems, but I think these will disappear over time."
Andreas Flick, bachelor’s student in theatre and media at the University of Bayreuth
The university's view
"Students used to have just a few big exams. Now they’ll have to take tests on each course to get the credits. It’s more work for everyone, but it will be easier to follow their progress."
Dr Cathleen Muehleck, director of examinations
for social sciences and humanities at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Munich
The employer's view
"The new system satisfies the wishes and expectations of both students and employers to a far greater extent than our traditional degrees."
Dr Volker Meyer-Guckel, deputy secretary-general of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft
